Hey Tim, top notch work as always! I am curious, you have worked with so many of the top artists in the industry, is there a particular artist that is a personal favorite of yours to work with and why? And I mean based purely on skill, style and line work and not personality or work ethic.
My favorite would obviously be Chris. We've been working together now for 12 years for a reason. My other guy would be Joe Madureira. Along with being his biggest fan, I really cut my teeth with him, artistically. We started out together and I learned SO much from him. A lot of who I am as an artist now is due to what I learned in my time working with him. Im always very eager and excited to work with him....however rarely that may be these days. Another guy that I absolutely had a blast working with is someone you might never imagine, Erik Larsen. I never would have imagined our two styles could gel in such a neat way. The few times Ive worked with him have been amazing fun and the final product really cool. Happily, Erik felt the same way I do. There are plenty of others but these guys stand out in the front of my mind.
Thanks for the reply Tim, I know you are incredibly busy and it is really great to see you interacting with your fans here on dA. This is such a treat to gather your professional thoughts on these artists who are legends in the industry, such as yourself. Chris is a great artist with a fun style that is just fun to look at. Joe is just awesome, his style, design sense and dynamic art style punches you square in the face, probably my favorite penciller next to Jim Lee. And then good ol Erik Larsen, who I first got to know in middle school with The Savage Dragon, and that favorite pose that he likes to draw of the character lunging towards the reader lol. Eril totally seems like he would be fun to work with, I think it comes across in his style. Thanks for the peak behind the curtain!
