Art Adams THE AUTHORITY 2

In every career, there are one or two moments that one will inevitably remember as high points or milestones. For me, one of these moments was when comics legend, Arthur Adams asked me to ink his story arc on The Authority. Once I picked my jaw off the floor I asked him why. He simply said he liked what I did. I went on to explain to him that I felt he looked, by far, the best when he inked himself. He agreed. I then told him Id like to do an "Art Adams" ink job, not a Tim Townsend. My ultimate goal is to make my penciler look as best they can. Its not an ego trip for me and Im not out to capture any spotlights. Anyone prone to this should NEVER be an inker. That being said, I set out, bought a bunch of Pigma Microns like Art uses to ink with and which Ive NEVER inked with, and tried to do the best Art Adams impression that I could muster. In a recent interview in the MODERN MASTERS: Art Adams edition, he mentioned that he was never really completely satisfied with what inkers did over him because he always had his own ideas of how things should look and, because of this, doesnt normally like to use them. He then went on to give me the best professional compliment I think Ive ever had stating that the person who came the closest was.....me. WOOT!! 8)
