Batman Hellboy pin-up by TimTownsend Batman Hellboy pin-up by TimTownsend
This was a gift for me from Chris Bachalo. Im a big Batman fan and the ultimate Hellboy freak. Chris, of course, put his own funky spin on the idea and came up with something only he could have thought of. The inks are by me. Unfortunately, I no longer have the scan of the pencils.

Stroke by stroke with a brush and nib. No tricks, just time.

I did go back in with white ink (FW White used with a nib) to add an extra layer of gradation in spots. Thanks!

I may have already commented on this, but I just had to revisit it. The organic/immaculate texture and line weights that you give your work really makes a piece like this. People sometimes fail to recognize that as fantastic as guys like bachalo and madureira are, their crispy style just isn’t quite the same when it’s beneath wimpy inks.
