A number of years back Chris Bachalo and I were asked to do a short run on Captain America before returning to the X-Men. We thought it would be a blast. Cap has always been a fave of mine so I was particularly thrilled. I think the work Chris and I did on the short run was some of the best we've produced yet. We were really in to it and having a lot of fun.

I ink the grass with either a nib or a brush, whichever Im feeling at the moment. I use FW White for special effects, etc.

I use FW White and apply it with a 102 Crow Quill.

I love the stuff that you guys do together. Pencillers usually get the bulk of cred for a piece but this is a great example of how much and inker can really add to it. Your grey work is awesome and helps seperate so well. Now as much as I love Chris's work, do you ever get to the point where your like "wtf am I inking here, is that a foot or a face?", given how busy he likes to make a page. Your inks are like liquid candy on this page, beautiful job!

Thanks! And yes, there are times when I look at the page and have no Earthly clue as to what Im seeing. Basically, I just work around the area for awhile. Sometimes, after staring at it for a while, it suddenly becomes clear. When this doesnt happen, I just make it in to whatever makes sense to me. :)

Hello Tim,

How do you do those white straight lines in the last panel, I mean, there’s some kind of “white pen” to do that?

*Sorry my bad English*

You always hear that people want to see something different. Then you give them something different. And they don't know how to deal with it.

Just a 102 Crow Quill nib and some FW White. Goes on just like ink.
