Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

AMAZING art book recommendation....

Hey peeps!

One of my numerous addictions is art books. I buy everything I can get my hands on. Once in a while something really exceptional comes along and I just had to sing its praises. Last year Dave and Greg over at Creature Box

started at Kickstarter project for their art book, "CreatureBox: The Monster Volume". To say they were successful in their endeavor would be putting it mildly. I just got my book in the mail yesterday and havent been able to put it down. Its just pure fun. Even the packaging is well-thought-out, a part of the overall experience. Im not sure how many of these are still available but I put my personal resounding stamp of approval on this awesome book! Go getcha' one!

Thanks to Dave and Greg for a great product and also for my little extra "something special"! Cant wait for the next project!
